Adam Driver Reportedly Cast As Villain in 'Star Wars: Episode VII'

Girls star Adam Driver is headed to a galaxy far, far away.
Driver is in final negotiations to star as the villain in Star Wars: Episode VII, the first film in the new sequel trilogy to be directed by J.J. Abrams. Sources confirm that Driver is closing a deal for the secretive role, the same part for which Michael Fassbender and Joel Kinnaman were in contention last year.
Despite the secrecy surrounding the project, insiders suspect the casting process is actually quite far along. One would certainly hope so, anyway, since the film is set to begin filming in London in the spring, which will require actors to begin "physical and Jedi training" sooner than the actual start date. (Side note: "Jedi training"? Awesome. Just yes. To all of it)
So is Driver's character a Sith? A politician? A crimelord? Something else entirely? No matter what role he's playing, his work on Girls illustrates that Driver has a talent for imbuing his characters with a certain darkness. It's a surprisingly solid bit of casting, in my opinion, and it gives me tremendous confidence in what's to come. Of course, it's hard to be 100% certain about how good a fit Driver is for the role, since we know so little about it. But I'm cautiously optimistic.
So what do you think about this casting? Sound off in the comments!
