Adam Brody to Guest Star on 'New Girl'

Adam Brody, a former star of The O.C., is returning to the network that gave him his big break.

Brody has signed on for a guest-starring role on New Girl. In the episode, set to begin shooting next week for air in early 2014, Brody will play Berkley, a married stay-at-home dad who happens to be one of Jess’ (Zooey Deschanel) distant ex-boyfriends. Berkley is "open with his feelings and prides himself on having mastered the art of being an ex," which explains why he and Jess have remained so close after their breakup...assuming that's actually the truth, and they aren't secretly passive-aggressive towards one another (I could see Brody and Deschanel doing wonderful things with this pairing if that's the case). We'll find out soon enough when the episode airs at midseason.
