Is it really Oscar season already? Color me stoked.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has unveiled the list of 19 films that have qualified for consideration for the Best Animated Feature Film Oscar at the 86th Academy Awards.

The category is a hodge-podge of big-budget entries like The Smurfs 2 and Disney's upcoming Frozen, as well as international fare such as The Wind Rises, the final film from legendary animated filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki (the Japanese director previously won in this category for 2002's Spirited Away).

Here's the full list of eligible films:

Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2

The Croods

Despicable Me 2

Epic

Ernest And Celestine

The Fake

Free Birds

Frozen

Khumba

The Legend Of Sarila

A Letter To Momo

Monsters University

O Apóstolo

Planes

Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Rebellion

Rio: 2096 A Story of Love And Fury

The Smurfs 2

Turbo

The Wind Rises

For the category to even be considered for inclusion in a given year, there needs to be at least eight eligible animated features released theatrically over the course of the year, and it's the number of eligible films that ultimately determines the number of nominees: If less than 16 films qualify, the number of nominees falls from five to three. To qualify, films have to be at least 75 percent animated.

Oscar nominations will be announced live on Thursday, January 26, at 7:30 a.m. EST. Meanwhile, The 86th Academy Awards, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, will air March 2 on ABC.
