ABC Renews 'Mistresses' for Third Season

The ABC summer lineup for 2015 is beginning to take shape. Just a month after the announcement that Bachelor In Paradise would return for another summer run, ABC has confirmed that its steamy drama Mistresses has been renewed for a 13-episode third season.

Starring Alyssa Milano, Yunjin Kim, Rochelle Aytes, and Jes Macallan as "a close-knit group of female friends whose lives are complicated by relationship woes and illicit affairs," Mistresses is an in-house production of ABC Studios, which makes this a far more lucrative property for the network than an outside production. The show has been a solid ratings performer in the lazy summer schedule, as the second season finale came in second in the key 18-49 demographic in its Monday night time slot, falling short of CBS’s Under the Dome. Throughout this summer, the show has maintained a consistent 0.9 rating in the demographic, which is a valuable number to hold in a time of year where consistent programming is hard to come by.

What do you think of the Mistresses renewal? Are you a fan? Or do you think the show should have been put out to pasture? Sound off in the comments!
