ABC Picks Up Anthony Anderson Comedy 'Black-Ish'

Although Guys With Kids flopped on NBC, Anthony Anderson is getting right back up on the sitcom horse.

Anderson's latest half-hour comedy, Black-ish, has just received a pilot pickup from ABC. The series, written by Kenya Barris (BET's The Game), features Anderson as an upper-middle class black man doing his best to raise his kids with a strong sense of cultural identity. However, he faces constant obstacles in the form of his liberal wife, conservative father, and his own kids, who don't see color in others.

It sounds like an interesting premise, and Anderson is the perfect fit for this kind of comedy project. He's definitely one of my favorite actors on TV. Hopefully, this will finally be the project that will be the hit he deserves.
