ABC Orders Additional Scripts For 'Trophy Wife' and 'The Goldbergs'

ABC is shoring up its new Tuesday night comedy lineup.

The network has ordered additional scripts for Trophy Wife and The Goldbergs. While this does not necessarily mean the shows will receive full-season pickups, it's a sign that ABC is at least interested in what they've seen from the comedies so far.

Neither show is a hit, but neither is a bomb either. Although this week's episode of The Goldbergs dropped 16 percent in the key 18-49 demo, it still averaged 5.1 million viewers. Meanwhile, the latest episode of Trophy Wife fell by a tenth, but still managed to score 4.1 million viewers for a 1.3 rating in the demo. If the shows can at least remain steady, extended orders for both shows would be more than likely.
