ABC Family Developing 'Hand That Rocks the Cradle' Adaptation

ABC Family is continuing its long tradition of...well, let's just call it "teen-friendly murder shows."
The cable network is developing an adaptation of the 1992 killer thriller The Hand That Rocks the Cradle. The project comes from Supernatural's Daniel Loflin, who will write and executive produce along with Radar Pictures' Ted Field (an executive producer of the original 1992 film) and Mike Weber.
The original R-rated film, starring Rebecca De Mornay and Annabella Sciorra, tells the story of a young nanny who terorizes a suburban family from within. If ABC Family orders the drama to series, it will join the network's other darker-themed teen dramas such as Pretty Little Liars, Ravenswood, Twisted and the upcoming The Final Girls (starring Jamie Lee Curtis as a mysterious woman bringing five traumatized girls together to help them channel their pain into something greater).
