ABC developing new Mo'Nique talk show

Mo'Nique is about to have a second stab at a talk show. However instead of late night she's heading to daytime! The funny actress is working on a new talker with ABC/Disney.

The Oscar-winning actress is working on a syndicated talk show with ABC/Disney that could launch as soon as September 2014, according to sources. The show is expected to be aimed to a daytime audience. Mo'Nique had a BET late-night talk show, Mo'Nique, which aired from 2009-2011.

It's a field day for new talk shows as Meredith Viera and Marie Osmond are launching new ones as FOX is still deciding whether to greenlight Kris Jenner's talk show, or the The Real with Tamera Mowry, Tamar Braxton, and others. Queen Latifah also debuted a new talk show earlier this fall.

Sources at ABC insist Mo’Nique's show is not intended as a replacement for Katie Couric's Katie, which is in the second year of its two-year contract with ABC-owned stations and others around the country.
