A Look into 10th Grade Gabe
This was also taken from material also written in 7th grade, but matured quite a bit. I ended up making about a 15 paged story in word, and then just stopped writing. Amazing dedication, me. :)
This is the first page:
The world of witches, wizards, warlocks, and humans, was once a happy and peaceful place. That is true no longer. Around every corner, there is hate. Between every valley, there is war. Up on the mountaintops, there is despair. On the street corner, there is misery. It wasn't always that way. Many people think that a single person can't change much, a decision can't alter history. Love... can a human love a witch? Apparently not. Many people believe that The Great War started over land. Money maybe? No. The Great War was a struggle over love. A human, dated a witch. I know what you think, no big deal right? Wrong. Just the thought of it made the other realms sick. Much time passed, and after awhile, the human and the witch got close, moved in together, and developed sort of…relationship. On one random night, the human "stumbled" onto an idea, he asked the witch… "We're close, aren't we?" "Yes." The witch responded in a playful tone. "Well, I was thinking…" "Yes…?" "How about you turn me into a warlock?" Now normally, this is where you would think a good witch would use her good sense, but of course… "Um, sure" She was unsure, curious, bewildered, but she did it anyway. The next morning, the witch woke up, surprised to see her now human-lock boyfriend not beside her. So like any other good witch, she went to investigate…Pretty soon, she heard voices, one that particularly sounded like her human-lock, and a woman's voice also. "Ugh, you don't love her do you?" The woman's voice was shrill and crude. "Love? Who? That witch!? Of course not!" The human-lock let out a light chuckle. "Well, how about me, you have to stick with your own kind, don't you?" Her voice, now seductive. It was too much for the witch, she ran out of the house; confused, angered, jealous, and heartbroken. Like all stories, however, that is not the end. During dawn of the next day, the witch awoke. Still confused, heartbroken. She wanted answers. She wanted clarity. She went back into her home, and to her surprise, there laid a body, lifeless. Once again, confused, the witch thought to herself… "Was that the woman from last night?" She walked farther into the house. "Who's there?!" The new warlock yelled, enraged. Silence. "Well, I guess since there's no answer, I'll just have to-" "It's me!" The good witch gathered up some courage. "Oh hello," The warlock turned to her menacingly, "have you met my wife?" he laughed an evil laugh. "Your… wife? But you…And I…" The witch choked back her tears. "You and I? There is not, nor never was, a 'You and I'" The witch was speechless… "Ha, you silly little witch, so easy to twist and bend. Don't you see you were my tool? To use, pretend to adore, to enjoy, while the time was right. But have no fear, you'll get over it. "You…used me?" The little confidence held inside of the witch, gone. "But I trusted you, I loved you," "Yeah, yeah, yeah…Yada, yada, yada. Well, hey…Look on the bright side, I enjoyed it." His focus was on something else. "This magic thing you know, pretty intense. Do you have any idea of the possibilities? Boy, I tell you, and only three days until its irreversible, that's some great stuff." The warlock stood, waiting for a reply, but there was none. The witch fled. "You can't hide from me, not now at least. Come on, don't be a naughty little witch, come on out. Besides the house is sealed, you can thank our little bedroom festivities for that one." While the confidence inside of the witch was returning, she tried a spell. "Ha, you silly witch, your spell can not hurt me. I am a full bred warlock. Not that human thing…he's gone. Now be a dear and show yourself." Perhaps out of fear, anxiety, or the simple fact that the human she had grown to love and care for was no longer here, or even, for that matter, existed in the first place, she showed herself. Playful, good, unsure, curious, bewildered, confused, angered, jealous, heartbroken, speechless; in love, she breathed her last breath.
