A Little Night Music featuring Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch - Discount Tickets Code
I watched the first Broadway revival of A Little Night Music featuring Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch last night. As usual, since I had no idea what this show was about getting in -- I ended up appreciating it more. I never thought that singing about marriage and infidelity could be entertaining! Needless to say, I had a great time -- and yes I laughed a lot and cried at times. If you are in New York or will visit, I highly recommend this show on your short list of things to watch.
It was my first time watching Bernadette Peters live and she was magnificent. I can't believe she's 62 - she could be in her 30s. I've heard "Send In The Clowns" many times before - notably my mother's cassette tape of Judy Collins's version (LOL) among other versions - but to truly experience this song, you have to watch Bernadette Peters. To listen to the song in the context of the show with Ms. Peter's acting and vocals was the highlight of the night. I felt so blessed to witness a performance by a Broadway legend such as her.
I thought the first half really started slowly which is probably because I'm more used to the run and gun musicals of today, but the show picked up speed as the story developed. It was hard getting used to Stephen Sondheim's music here for me, but once you "get it" -- it's genius. I really appreciated that he rewarded one of the supporting roles Petra (the maid) a solo song in the end.
I've included the DISCOUNT CODE for tickets at the end of the post.
