Rapper/actor Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has been charged with attacking his ex-girlfriend and trashing her Los Angeles condo, city attorney Mike Feuer said Wednesday.

According to reports, Jackson had already left the Toluca Lake condo when officers arrived at the residence, which belongs to a woman with whom Jackson had a baby. The woman told police she had been in a three-year relationship with Jackson.
During the incident, which occurred on June 23, the woman told police that Jackson began destroying her property following a heated argument. The woman locked herself in her bedroom to avoid Jackson, at which point he kicked the bedroom door open and cornered her, at which point he began to kick her.
Police placed damage estimates at around $7,100, with many broken items including chandeliers, furniture and a television.
"Regardless of perceived celebrity or notoriety, domestic violence is a serious crime and alleged perpetrators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law by this office," said Feuer.
