It's official: Jack is back.
Mere days after FOX canceled the Kiefer Sutherland drama Touch, the network has announced that the actor will reprise his most famous role, as Agent Jack Bauer, in the newly-resurrect 24: Live Another Day.
The 12-episode limited series will still tell a 24-hour story, as always, though episodes will jump certain hours. The project will be produced by 24's former showrunner, Howard Gordon. The limited series is expected to premiere in May 2014.
"24 compressed over 12 weeks, Jack is back," said Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly during a conference call with reporters. Reilly noted 24 will mark FOX's first limited run series with the potential for additional closed-ended stories in the franchise.
