2015 Tony Awards Date and Location Announced

Theater fans, get ready: The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing has announced the date and location for the 69th annual Tony Awards!

The ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 7, 2015, at the legendary Radio City Music Hall in New York City. It will air at 8:00 PM ET on CBS, its network home since 1978.

The date is significant in that it will dictate the eligibility cut-off date for awards consideration. Thus, the early June airdate means the cut-off date for submissions for all Broadway productions opening in the 2014-2015 season is Thursday, April 23, 2015. As long as you open on or before that date, you're eligible for the 2015 Tony Awards.

However, if a show waits til the last minute to submit, they might be cutting it a bit too close to comfort: Nominations for the 2015 Tony Awards will be announced on April 28, just five days after the cut-off date for submissions.

Limited tickets will be made available to the public on April 29, the day after nominations are announced. So you'll have the opportunity to attend Broadway's biggest night, regardless of whether or not you've actually had the opportunity to see any of the nominated shows (I would imagine seeing every nominated show would set you back an inconceivable amount of money anyway).

No word on who will be hosting this year, but we're staunch supporters of Neil Patrick Harris here. (Congrats on your recent nuptials, by the way!)
