Evan Rachel Wood and Thomas McDonell will be starring in a spin-off of the 1999 teen-film 10 Things I Hate About You.

Which was itself originally based off the Shakespeare play The Taming of the Shrew.

According to Gossip Cop, the brand new film is a "thematic spinoff" which will be "about a girl and boy who are about to commit suicide before they meet and fall in love with each other."

Don't worry too much though, the spin-off will be helmed by 10 Things director Gil Junger and producer Andrew Lazar so there's still hope for it yet.

For this same movie, but with 100% more Tom Waits and set in the afterlife, check out the fabulous 2006 film Wristcutters: A Love Story. (Because who can say no to Tom Waits?)
